Put every room on the same evidence grid
Use the provider page for the same dates and guest count. Record an unknown instead of filling a gap with an assumption; that unknown is the next question to resolve before payment.
| Check | Record | Hold the booking when |
|---|---|---|
| Sleeping fit | Exact bed count, bed type, occupancy, and any child or extra-bed rule | The room name is doing the work but the actual layout is missing |
| Usable space | Floor area, separate rooms, balcony, storage, desk, and luggage space | A larger-sounding category has no measurable layout difference |
| Bathroom | Private or shared, shower or bath, and any accessibility requirement | Only a generic hotel amenity list is visible |
| Light and noise | Window, floor, outlook, street or lift exposure, and connecting-door notes | The gallery cannot be matched to the exact room category |
| What is included | Breakfast, taxes, fees, occupancy, cancellation deadline, and payment timing | The cheaper headline rate uses different terms or inclusions |
| Evidence trail | Exact-category photos, current terms, and the final booking summary | The last screen changes the room name, dates, guests, or payable total |
Start with one exact room, not a hotel category
Write the full room name exactly as it appears for the selected dates. Then copy the bed setup, occupancy, floor area, bathroom, window or balcony note, and inclusions into one row. A label such as Standard, Superior, Deluxe, or Suite is useful only after those fields explain what changes.
Keep hotel-level facilities in a separate column. A pool, restaurant, or attractive lobby may improve the stay, but it does not prove that the selected room has the view, layout, bath, quiet position, or extra bed shown elsewhere on the property page.
Normalize beds and occupancy before comparing price
A king bed, two single beds, a sofa bed, and an extra-bed option solve different group needs. Record what is guaranteed, what is offered as a choice, and what requires a request. Do not count a request as confirmed until the booking summary or provider says it is included.
At 24 Inn, the reviewed room evidence includes both single-room and multi-room layouts. That makes it a useful example of why a couple, two friends, and a family should not rank the same category list in the same order.

Floor area is a starting point, not the whole answer. A balcony, separate sleeping zone, second bathroom, usable desk, or clearer luggage space can matter more than a small increase in square meters. Conversely, a large room may still be awkward if the extra area is in a corridor or unused sitting zone.
B.H Paradise Hotel provides a concrete comparison set in the current evidence: its captured categories include different floor areas and a family layout. Use those differences to decide what the upgrade buys, then recheck the live page because room inventory and terms can change by date.

Look for several images assigned to the selected category: bed and entry, bathroom, window or balcony, storage, and the widest angle of the room. Hotel-wide galleries are useful for judging the property, but they should not be used as evidence for a room that is not named in the caption or booking row.
Andaman Seaview's reviewed page separates several room and pool-access choices. The useful question is not whether the property gallery looks good; it is whether the selected category's photos and details support the feature that justified choosing it.
Check Andaman Seaview's room evidence →Separate room value from location value
A smaller room beside the right station, beach route, dinner area, or early pickup point can outperform a larger room that adds two difficult transfers every day. Score the room and the location separately so an attractive upgrade does not hide a poor daily route.
For a short city stay, sleep quality, luggage handling, and transport may carry more weight than resort facilities. For a slow beach stay, the room, balcony, pool, and easy return route may matter more because the hotel holds a larger share of the day.
Use the hotel location checklist →Compare the final terms on identical inputs
Use the same check-in date, check-out date, currency, guest count, child ages, and number of rooms for every option. Then compare what is included, the cancellation deadline and time zone, when payment is taken, taxes or fees shown before payment, and the final payable total.
A lower headline rate is not automatically the better room. It may exclude breakfast, use a stricter cancellation rule, require earlier payment, or apply to a different bed setup. The provider's final booking summary—not a cached guide, search snippet, or old screenshot—controls the live choice.
Use a two-minute stop rule before payment
Read the last booking screen aloud as a compact sentence: hotel, exact room, dates, guest count, beds, inclusions, cancellation deadline, payment timing, and total. If one part is missing or has changed, pause and resolve it instead of relying on what appeared earlier in the funnel.
Save the final room name and terms with the confirmation after booking. That record helps if the group is coordinating across phones, arriving late, requesting a bed setup, or checking whether a later message refers to the same room.
