Choose the daily route before the room style
Start with the places the group expects to reach most days: a resort pool, Ubud-area cultural stops, beach dining, early activities, or a quiet coastline. The wrong region can turn an attractive room into a daily transfer problem.
Then decide whether one base can support the whole trip. A split stay is useful only when the second region changes the experience enough to justify another transfer, checkout, and check-in.
Use inland Ubud or Payangan for resort-led days
Inland Bali suits travellers who want a slower resort rhythm, wellness time, cultural outings, or several days that do not depend on the coast. The useful booking question is whether the property can carry a full day, not whether every southern attraction is technically reachable.
Padma Resort Ubud is a concrete evidence check in the current inventory: its reviewed source places it in Payangan north of Ubud and lists rooms and suites, dining, pools, spa, family facilities, and organised activities. That breadth can reduce daily movement, but it does not make the hotel a walkable Ubud-centre base.
Confirm the selected room, meal terms, shuttle or transfer arrangements, and the exact route for any must-do town plans before paying.
Use an active beach base when evenings drive the trip
A busier coastal base earns its place when the group wants frequent restaurants, nightlife, surf or beach time, shopping, or short evening journeys. Choose the exact coastal area from those priorities rather than treating every Bali beach address as interchangeable.
Room evidence still matters. Check whether the booked category has the bed setup, privacy, sound expectations, and outdoor space shown in the photos; a villa label alone does not prove those details.
Choose Lovina when North Bali is the destination
Lovina and the north coast make more sense for quiet beachfront time, on-property dining, wellness, and North Bali outings than for a short trip built around southern beach clubs or frequent cross-island movement.

Make a split stay solve a real conflict
Combine regions when one base cannot serve both halves of the trip without repeated long transfers. An inland resort followed by North Bali can make sense when the first half is activity or wellness-led and the second is intentionally coastal and quiet.
Do not split only to collect hotel names. Count the lost checkout hours, luggage handling, transfer planning, and different meal routines. If the second stay does not unlock a clearly different day, keep one base.
